I photograph to challenge myself. To test the limits of what I can see,
what I can capture, and what I can make someone feel when they stand in
front of an image.

I am drawn to shadow not as an aesthetic choice, but as something
deeper. Jung wrote about the shadow as the part of us we hide from the
world. I believe it is also the most honest part. My work lives in that
space — between what we choose to show and what we try to conceal.

I don’t ask my subjects to pose. I ask them to stop. To breathe. To
allow themselves to be seen without the performance of being seen. When
that happens, when the mask slip. That is when the photograph becomes
real.

Light sculpts the body. Shadow reveals the soul.

My world changes with my mood. Some days I reach for melancholy and
tenderness. Other days for something sharp and uncompromising. But
always, I am looking for the moment when a person stops pretending — and
starts simply existing in front of the lens.

That moment is what I photograph.
